Directions & Parking

The National Children’s Museum is located in National Harbor, Md., just a 15-minute drive from Washington, D.C., and is also easily accessible from other points in Maryland and Virginia. Map your trip yourself, or check out the directions below.

Please note: it's running season, and National Harbor will host several races over the summer. Click here for a full list of scheduled athletic events. Please plan your trip accordingly, as races may result in extra congestion in parking garages and around National Harbor.

From Washington, D.C.:

  • Take I-295 South to National Harbor Exit 1B
  • Merge onto National Harbor Blvd.
  • Turn right onto St. George Blvd.
  • The National Children’s Museum is located at 151 St. George Blvd., at the corner of St. George Blvd. and American Way.

From Maryland (Montgomery County and points northwest):

  • Merge onto I-495 N (Inner Loop)
  • The lanes will divide after you pass Exit 4. Make sure stay in the right lanes in order to follow the ‘Local Lanes’.
  • Take National Harbor Exit 2A
  • Merge onto National Harbor Blvd.
  • Turn right onto St. George Blvd.
  • The National Children’s Museum is located at 151 St. George Blvd., at the corner of St. George Blvd. and American Way.

From Maryland (Waldorf and points south):

  • Take US-301 N/Crain Hwy
  • Continue onto MD-5 N/Branch Ave
  • Take the exit onto I-495 S/I-95 S
  • Take exit 2A to merge onto National Harbor Blvd.
  • Turn right onto St. George Blvd.
  • The National Children’s Museum is located at 151 St. George Blvd., at the corner of St. George Blvd. and American Way.

From Northern Virginia:

  • Merge onto I-495/I-95 Capital Beltway – Outer Loop
  • Cross the Woodrow Wilson Bridge into Maryland
  • Take National Harbor Exit 2A
  • Merge onto National Harbor Blvd.
  • Turn right onto St. George Blvd.
  • The National Children’s Museum is located at 151 St. George Blvd., at the corner of St. George Blvd. and American Way.

Parking

There is plenty of parking in National Harbor in garages and on the street. Learn more about parking in National Harbor here. The closest parking facility to NCM is the St. George Garage.
