We are proud to support this National Education Association's initiative with programming that celebrates literacy all month long.

Dr. Seuss's Birthday Party

Celebrate what would have been Dr. Seuss's 109th birthday on Saturday, March 2. Join us for special Dr. Seuss storytime in the NCM Theatre, crafts featuring your favorite Dr. Seuss characters, and, of course, cake! Purchase your tickets in advance here, or in person at the Museum Box Office on March 2.

Storytime with author Karen Leggett Abouraya

Former journalist, traveler and author Karen Leggett Abouraya will visit the NCM Theatre on Saturday, March 9 for a special reading of Hands Around the Library, her beloved story about protecting treasured Egyptian books. Purchase your tickets in advance here, or in person at the Museum Box Office on March 9. 

Storytime with Washington Redskins' Josh Morgan

Recently named the Washington Redskins' Walter Payton Man of the Year, wide receiver Josh Morgan will visit the NCM Theatre on Saturday, March 16 for two readings of the African folktale, Bringing the Rain to Kapiti Plain. Readings will take place at 1:30 p.m. and 1:45 p.m.

This event is part of our month-long Read Across America celebration and is included with your admission to the Museum. Separate Theatre tickets are not required, but we will fill seats on a first-come, first-served basis. Purchase your tickets to the Museum in advance here, or in person at the Museum Box Office on March 16.
