Why do bats only come out at night? Where does nighttime come from? Flap your wings with Little Bat in this NCM original production, based on the beautiful folktale from Sierra Leone in West Africa. Perfect for all age groups!  - See more at: http://www.ncm.museum/events#sthash.R1JlIs0R.dpuf

Theatre Opportunities

The National Children’s Museum seeks both youth and professional performers to spotlight in our theatre. If you are in a band, dance troupe, drama club or other performance group and the members are all under the age of 18, there is a chance you can perform on the NCM stage. The Museum is also interested in professional or university affiliated performing artists, companies and troupes from the Washington, D.C. metro area to perform.

For either group, performances must be family friendly with run times of 30 minutes for school aged children up to third grade, and 20 minutes for children under age three.

The NCM Theatre offers:

  • Black box theatre
  • 22'×13' stage
  • Lighting and sound systems
  • Co-ed changing room
  • Access to loading dock
  • Enthusiastic audiences waiting for you!

If your group is interested in performing, please send a description of your performance, including the number of performers and for which audience your group is most suited, along with any videos and recordings to Jarreau Williams at jwilliams@ncm.museum
