The National Children's Museum is now a "Museum on the Move."
As part of the National Children's Museum's previously announced relocation to Washington, DC, NCM recently announced that many of the museum's exhibits will temporarily be housed in multiple District of Columbia Public Library (DCPL) locations providing opportunities for the museum's exhibits and programming to continue to reach children across DC throughout 2015. Look for further details on this exciting new partnership to be released soon.
The collaboration with DCPL will kick off NCM's "Museum on the Move" initiative designed to bring the museum's proprietary educational programs and resources directly to children throughout the Washington, DC metro area in 2015.
By moving back to DC, NCM expects to increase accessibility and program space, both of which have previously presented challenges to fulfilling the museum's mission.
The search for a new location inside the District is well underway, and a Request for Proposals has been issued to real estate developers, agents and brokers in DC. Top priorities for the new museum location include adequate space for exhibits, educational programming and administrative offices and close proximity to public transportation.
NCM will continue to provide programming at such events as the NBC4 Health and Fitness Expo, National Cherry Blossom Festival,White House Easter Egg Roll and much more.
Thank you for your continued support of the National Children's Museum.
